Insta-Peep-O-Gram: London Fashion Week
By Jenny Bahn
Leave it to Katie Grand, editor-in-chief of Love Magazine, to come up with some killer shots of London Fashion Week. I love the styling here for Sister by Sibling. It’s like Deadmau5 and Maison Martin Margiela got together and had a knitting party. What a gorgeous bit of fun this is?

  6. As a choir of angels echoed through the Palm Court of the Plaza hotel Wednesday afternoon, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig sent out a chorus of frothy, gilded frocks of the highest order. Their otherworldliness was inspired by William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s dramatic nineteenth-century painting A Soul Brought to Heaven, and the effect of their shimmering embroidered silhouettes ending in sweeping and swishing tulle made it seem as if the models were walking through clouds in an area of heaven reserved only for the truly glamorous. the runway directions backstage @michaelkors were awesome: “Brad and Angelina are jealous of you.” a sense of humor in fashion… shockingly rare!

  11. To give you a picture of the kind of money we’re talking here, Tumblr is proposing to charge:
-$100K for “partnered content” aka 15 posts a day by one of the NYFW bloggers
    -$150K for a sponsored takeover of tumblr.com/nyfw
-$350K for sponsored takeover of tumblr.com/tagged/fashion
All of these sums are per week. We’ll just let that sink in. Adding to the absurdity of the overinflated prices is the fact that as far as sponsored takeovers go, Tumblr isn’t offering much: Both the $150K and $350K are nothing more than a banner ad and a few promoted posts from the brand’s own Tumblr. To give you a comparison, an “industry rep” told Mashable that “a front page takeover of nytimes.com runs at a CPM of about $2 to $3, and the ‘most premium’ package from magazine publisher Conde Nast runs just above $30.”
